The Departments of Arabic Language and History constituted the nucleus of the arts section of this faculty. Along with the Department of Education, now the College of Education has 6 departments with 164 teaching staff members. Students enrolled at the college amount to nearly 1644. It contains the following departments: Biology, History, Arabic language, English Language, Geography and Educational Psychology where the students enrolled in any of the above departments are awarded a Bachelor's degree. Each of these six departments aims to prepare qualified personnel in their specialty to feed the schools, educational establishments and institutions. As of the academic year 2002/2003 the Master's degree programs were initiated at the Department of Biology, Arabic, and History.
