College of Education When College of Education was established in 1996 in Karbala, it was belong to University of Babylon, the Faculty of Arts was the first functioning faculty at that time. The Departments of Arabic Language and History constituted the nucleus of the arts section of this faculty. Along with the Department of Education, now the College of Education has 6 departments with 164 teaching staff members. Students enrolled at the college amount to nearly 1644. It contains the following departments: Biology, History, Arabic language, English Language, Geography and Educational Psychology where the students enrolled in any of the above departments are awarded a Bachelor's degree. Each of these six departments aims to prepare qualified personnel in their specialty to feed the schools, educational establishments and institutions. As of the academic year 2002/2003 the Master's degree programs were initiated at the Department of Biology, Arabic, and History. |
